The Daily Gazette is a daily newspaper that primarily covers Schenectady County and City but has expanded and purchased papers covering six counties in the Capital Region of New York. Erica is the Schenectady County Reporter, covering the County Legislature as well as the smaller towns and villages within the county. Her coverage also expands into some of the neighboring counties on occasion.
Influx Magazine was Erica's capstone project at the University of Minnesota. It was published in print and web and had multiple social media accounts. Erica was the Writing and Editing Team leader, edited all content across platforms and wrote her own feature story.
The Troy Record is a daily newspaper covering Troy, Watervliet, Cohoes and Green Island N.Y. as well as Rensselaer and Albany County. Erica is a writer, reporter and photographer with near-daily front-page stories. She primarily covers government and other hard news.
The Peninsula Pulse is a weekly print and online publication that covers Door County, WI, and surrounding areas. As well as news, they cover arts, entertainment, food and more. They also operate two magazines, Door County Living and Door Wedding, which Erica wrote for during her internship.
The Wake Magazine is a bi-weekly student publication at the University of Minnesota. The Online section, which Erica wrote for and edited, covered everything from research articles to book reviews. They also have a satirical issue called The Bizzaro that releases once a semester.
Decorah Newspapers has two weekly publications: The Decorah Public Opinion covering the town and county; and The Driftless Journal which covers multiple surrounding counties. Decorah is Erica's hometown and was her first internship at a news organization.
